Gigwalk, the world’s largest on-demand mobile workforce, today announced the release of new platform features designed to help businesses scale their field operations. The new features include a fully redesigned dashboard giving businesses a visual overview of their Gigs, sharing features so customers can onboard their entire team to collaborate on Gigs, and search/filter tools so that customers can more quickly post and manage more Gigs.
By giving businesses on-demand access to over 220,000 mobile workers, Gigwalk is building on its success and adding Reckitt Benckiser to its roster of A-list clients. Reckitt Benckiser relies on Gigwalk for in-store data collection and help with in-store retail execution. The company joins a client list that includes Microsoft, TomTom, eBay, Mercedes-Benz, and many more.
“Our Gigwalk project was a success. With Gigwalk, we were able to find 500 people to conduct shopper interviews across the US in two weeks. We used this data to understand the drivers behind product sales,” said Litthya Baez, consumer and market insights leader at Reckitt Benckiser. “They’re taking a technology-first approach which has allowed us to easily reach out to thousands of people in the field at our schedule, and the new features will make this even easier.”
Gigwalk’s mobile work platform allows instant access to verified workers in North America who can be activated to do a variety of jobs including collecting information, verifying execution, interviewing customers, promoting products and setting-up installations. Traditional methods of finding temporary workers, which still rely on decades-old methods of guesswork to manually match workers to employers, have not kept up with the new realities of mobility – where speed, accuracy, and coverage can make or break a business.
Gigwalk is using a combination of mobile and machine learning technologies to reinvent how businesses select, deploy, and manage temporary workers in the field and improve upon current crowdsourcing models for field work. Using this technology, Gigwalk is able to give any business, big or small, access to their own on-demand workforce which can be scaled and managed with ease.
“Through our technology, Gigwalk is democratizing fast access to massive, verified workforces anywhere in the world,” said Bob Bahramipour, chief executive officer at Gigwalk. “With just a few clicks and a swipe of the credit card any business can have 220,000 mobile workers at its command. With over 3.5 million tasks completed on Gigwalk, we are now seeing accelerated traction for on-demand, mobile workforces by businesses in various industries.”
Gigwalk’s product and engineering team is solving the problem of scalability in the temporary work industry. Using advanced data-mining techniques they’ve created a machine learning system that predicts the success of workers based on their observed work history. Gigwalk engineers leveraged robust open source products to scale its marketplace technology for customers. The latest release includes new features that take advantage of these products including:
- A Gig Management Dashboard: The new dashboard uses Backbone.js to turn large data sets into a fully visual, top-line view of a customer’s Gigs and results, allowing them to hire and manage thousands of workers at one time.
- Search and filter tools: This new tool uses Elasticsearch to help customers scale their field operations. Customers can now search and filter based on a variety of Gig attributes such as title or location and will soon be able to do the same with Gig results.
