CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwire) -- 02/11/13 -- Technology Services Group (TSG) has used Dynamsoft's Web TWAIN software development kit (SDK) to create its OpenCapture application ideal for web-based image document management including, scanning, archival and retrieval. The application is suited for companies requiring simple document scanning and storage. This includes pharmacies, clinics, government agencies and others that require simple, fast, single batch scanning for documentation such as contracts, ID cards, insurance cards and more.
OpenCapture can be seamlessly implemented for document captures and image storage in an Enterprise Content Management (ECM) repository. The typical process of its use involves logging in to the ECM repository and initiating a scan. The user then fills in document metadata to better ID the document and then can import the image to the ECM repository for secured storage and access.
"OpenCapture enables fast, simple web-based image capturing and allows users to control certain features like color type, resolution, page rotations and more," said George Steimer, Product Manager for TSG. "It can become time-consuming to develop comprehensive image capture applications. But, in leveraging Dynamsoft's Dynamic Web TWAIN SDK, we were able to cost-effectively bring OpenCapture to market very quickly."
OpenCapture supports multiple ECM repositories including Alfresco® and EMC Documentum®. Authentication to these repositories is supported via standalone or pass-through authentication. Dynamsoft's Web TWAIN SDK is a browser-based solution for developing applications for image acquisition including, editing and saving capabilities. It supports all popular Internet browsers. Its TWAIN interface allows developers to write just a couple of lines of code to support scanning documents from TWAIN-compatible scanners. It also supports TWAIN-based digital cameras and capture cards. The SDK seamlessly enables convenient user capabilities. This includes the ability to edit scanned images and save them in a variety of formats or to a remote database. The TWAIN control also supports loading and processing local images.
"Dynamsoft's comprehensive suite of image capture SDKs provide powerful convenience for programmers," said Amy Gu, Vice President of Dynamsoft. "We enable enterprises to far more quickly develop and deploy standards-based and highly secure image capture applications to suit a variety of industry needs. We're able to dramatically reduce development times from months to days in very cost-effective software development kit solutions."
