TAIPEI, Taiwan, Jan. 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- ALi Corporation (3041.TW), a leading Set-Top Box (STB) solution provider, today announced that ALi's DVB-T2 solutions for the Russian market are ready for mass production. ALi has been cooperating with local Russian partners in developing various STB solutions tailored to suit the Russian market.
With MNITI, Moscow Scientific-Research Television Institute, ALi presents a reference DVB-T2 design for local STB manufacturers to promote availability of DVB-T2 set-top boxes. MNITI is the leading organization in Russia in the field of television equipment and currently heads the development and organization on the production of receivers for digital television.
With ADAKTA, an independent design house, ALi is to put forth a DVB-T2 hybrid design with Linux solution catering to the Russian market. ADAKTA offers services for the development of embedded systems in electronics such as set-top boxes, mobile and wireless devices, as well as data collecting and processing devices.
The roll-out of digital terrestrial television in Russia continues in DVB-T2 standard with the second multiplex deployment to start in 2013, adding 10 more free-to-air broadcasting channels to the existing 8 channels in the first multiplex. Furthermore, the Russian Television and Broadcasting Network (RTRS) has also recently announced plans to introduce HbbTV services in the first quarter of 2013. These are just some of the factors that drive the imminent demand for various set-top boxes in Russia.

Several ALi products will be exhibited by ODM partners at the CSTB 2013 as well.
