Alloy Software, Inc., a leading provider of service management and asset management solutions, today announced the immediate availability of Alloy Discovery 6.5. The latest version of Alloy Discovery offers several enhanced features that help medium and enterprise businesses manage their growing IT environments. It provides a comprehensive network discovery and inventory solution that detects, audits and continually tracks physical and virtual computers, servers, printers, switches, routers and other IT resources deployed throughout corporate networks.
Supporting Windows, Linux and Mac operating systems, Alloy Discovery is the clear choice for any environment looking to track and manage their hardware and software inventory. Providing both agentless and agent-based audit tools, Alloy Discovery is powerful yet flexible, and is capable of capturing hardware and software inventory data for single- and multi-domain networks, remote (WAN) sites, isolated networks and standalone computers.
New features and functionality of Alloy discovery 6.5 include:
- Improved SNMP Handling: Enhancements to SNMP v3 authentication and privacy settings as well as the ability to automatically import discovered SNMP devices for integration with financial details and service history.
- Hypervisor Support: Audit and gather information about Hypervisors and virtual machines from a number of platforms such as Microsoft Hyper-V, VMware ESX, VMware ESXi, Xen, Citrix XenServer, and more.
- Concurrent Licensing Model: Allows IT staff with multiple shifts to share licensing costs and save money.
- Reporting Enhancements: The new version adds support for the RDL format (Microsoft Report Definition Language), providing the capability to use Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services as an alternative to Crystal Reports.
“IT environments tend to grow in different shapes, sizes and complexity creating challenges for organizations to track and manage hardware and software, and more importantly, deliver responsive support to their users,” explained Vladimir Vinogradsky, President and CEO at Alloy Software. “The new Alloy Discovery offers flexible tools to track and manage IT assets across disparate networks and operating systems, making it easy to keep pace with organizational change and business needs.”
