BROOKFIELD, Wis., Jan. 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Connecture, Inc., the leader in sales automation technology for the health insurance industry, today invited interested software developers and technology professionals to attend the January 17, 2013 meeting of the Wisconsin Java User Group (WJUG) – a free, informal, technical forum for Java enthusiasts. "The use of Robot Framework with Selenium 2.0 enables developers to more efficiently conduct browser-based quality assurance (QA) tests," said Schneider. "Unlike other testing methods, tests run with Selenium utilize actual browsers, not simulations. As a result you can run more tests more efficiently in real-world environments just like those end-users will encounter."
A veteran developer who has contributed to many open source efforts, including Apache Software Foundation projects Apache CXF, Apache Maven, and Apache Struts 2, Schneider has many years of experience creating Java-based solutions and using a variety of programming languages, including Groovy. He is also the original developer of the QuantumDB Eclipse Plugin.
"Automated QA with Robot Framework" will feature the demonstration of real tests running against different browsers, including various versions of Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari. In addition, the presentation will include automated QA best practices and instruction that demonstrates how simple and effective such tests can be.
Meeting details include:
- When: Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013 from 5-7:00 p.m. CST – The meeting will begin with a social that includes food and drinks.
- Where: Connecture's headquarters at 18500 West Corporate Drive in Brookfield, Wis.
- For more information or to register: Visit www.wjug.org or contact WJUG lead Paul Heberer at pheberer@teamsoftinc.com.
- Requirements: There is no cost to attend. All interested developers are welcome.
"Effective browser-based testing is absolutely crucial when developing any Web-based solution that will be used by consumers and increasingly that means you have to run tests again numerous browsers in numerous operating systems," added Schneider. "Anyone who is grappling with that reality will find this presentation useful. More importantly, any developer who uses Java would be well-served to join WJUG and take advantage of the great opportunities it offers to share information with colleagues in Wisconsin."
Schneider will also present "Automated QA with Robot Framework" at the Madison Java User Group on Tuesday, Jan. 15. For more details visit www.madjug.org.
Interested developers and IT professionals are also invited to learn more about employment opportunities at Connecture by visiting www.connecturejobs.com.
