SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 12/20/12 -- Polkast, a service that connects computers to mobile devices, enabling fast and easy access to large media libraries via WiFi or remotely, today announced the integration of the Aviary (http://aviary.com/) photo editor in its personal cloud app. Polkast takes the popular mobile feature to the next level by opening up the user's entire photo library.
Unlike other mobile apps which limit you to editing photos stored on your mobile, Polkast lets you grab any photo from your computer and edit a copy (original is untouched). Apply filters, crop and resize photos, and have fun with stickers, drawing and captions. You can share photos on Facebook or privately through Polkast. Your edited copies are automatically saved back to your computer, as well as on the device camera roll. It's an easy, convenient and fun way to enhance your entire photo library from anywhere.
"90% of our users view their photos through Polkast, because they have thousands of pictures on their computer not stored on their phone, iPad, Kindle or other tablet," said Hong Bui, CEO and Founder of Polkast. "People love mobile photo editing, so why limit to what's on your phone? Sit back on the couch with your iPad and have fun creatively editing any and all of your photos... then see them appear across your devices."
The updated Polkast iOS app is available now for the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. The Android and Kindle updates will be released shortly in Google Play and the Amazon app store.
Photo editing is the latest feature addition to showcase the power of the Polkast peer-to-peer personal cloud service. Polkast delivers secure anytime access to all of your content from any of your devices, without storage limits, upload delays or privacy concerns. It is particularly powerful when both devices are on the same local network and can take advantage of WiFi speeds and bandwidth, impossible with cloud services. Polkast can be downloaded from the Google Play Store or iTunes App Store for free. About Polkast
Founded in 2010, Polkast is ushering in the next wave of personal cloud computing. Polkast apps connect consumer devices directly, letting users build their own personal cloud, bypassing the public cloud. Polkast is a smarter solution for file access and transfer, leveraging WiFi and addressing the problems of cloud size restrictions and security -- files are not stored on 3rd party servers, and only the user has access to them. Polkast distributes apps on Windows, Mac OS X, iOS, Android and Linux direct to consumers and through device partners; and in September 2012 added Polkast Music.
Polkast software lets you seamlessly connect the dots in your digital life, quickly, securely and without limits. For more information about Polkast, please visit www.polkast.com.
