In response to feedback from its growing developer community, AppFog, the leading cloud-based platform-as-a-service (PaaS) provider, today introduced a low-cost paid developer plan to its pricing program. In addition, AppFog has increased database storage capacity across all of its paid plans, and has doubled the limits on storage per application.
“PaaS is becoming the de facto standard for developers building mobile, social and consumer applications, and our new low-cost plan will encourage greater PaaS adoption,” said Lucas Carlson, CEO of AppFog. “AppFog’s objective has always been to provide our rapidly growing community of developers with the tools they need to make building, deploying and managing apps fast, easy and more effective. Listening to their needs is a top priority, and we’ve continuously implemented additional services based on what they tell us, from growing our network of add-on partners to innovating our developer plans.”
Available at https://console.appfog.com , the new, affordable monthly plan is priced at $50 per user. It is enhanced with SSL support and database storage of 500MB to 4GB, far larger than the free plan allowance. At half the cost of what used to be AppFog’s lowest paid plan, the new plan addresses the need of small development groups, independent developers, and developers at startups and at small and mid-sized businesses to gain the advantages of AppFog’s leading polyglot and multi-cloud PaaS platform at an affordable cost.
The new, affordable plan includes:
- Free scalable load balanced apps
- 50 GB data transfer limit
- Java, .NET, Ruby, Node, Python, PHP, etc.
- Each MySQL and PostgreSQL instance comes with 500MB storage
- Each Redis and RabbitMQ instance comes with 10MB RAM and a 6 concurrent connection limit
- Free Custom Domains
- Fastest servers available on any infrastructure (Yes we mean m2.4xlarge)
- Multi-tenant Cloud Foundry instances
- 24/7 operations and monitoring for all users and customers
