Eldorado, a division of MphasiS, an HP Company, and leading provider of benefit administration platforms, announced that Cerner (Nasdaq: CERN) recently selected Javelina as its health care information technology platform.
“Javelina has been specifically developed to help our clients transition towards increased interoperability in order to grow with the changing health care landscape,” said Sally Else, president of Eldorado. “We are pleased that Cerner has chosen us to support its health information technology goals moving forward.”
According to Cerner Vice President Roger Kaltefleiter, Javelina’s fully integrated application suite affords greater operational transparency with user-defined configuration across areas such as billing, stop loss, CRM and provider/network management. In addition, its ICD-10 architecture further ensures that Cerner remains one step ahead of federal compliance guidelines.
Eldorado and Cerner will also be jointly rolling out a real-time medical banking transaction that features a “debitless card” transaction. This enables web services to be used for consumer-driven health plans (CDHP) for instantaneous financial account updates between the plan administrator and the pharmacy benefit manager (PBM).
“By eliminating the CDHP cards, Cerner will add value while reducing administrative expenses for our TPA clients,” said Kaltefleiter. “This is just one of the innovative strategies where we can leverage technology to drive service fees down.”
Javelina is Eldorado’s award-winning benefits administration payer platform. Its fully open source technology and 20+ components are designed to ensure performance-driven operations. In addition to meeting CORE-required real-time capabilities, Javelina was awarded Best ROI - Payer at the 2011 IDC Healthcare IT Summit.
