CENTENNIAL, CO -- (Marketwire) -- 12/11/12 -- Cloud Elements, a leading Cloud application integrator, today announced that it has selected VMware and its Cloud Foundry Core as the foundation for its Cloud application development consulting practice. Cloud Elements' Cloud Integration services and reusable technology Elements will be leveraged for maximum extensibility on VMware's Cloud Foundry, an open platform-as-a-service (PaaS), to enable the rapid development and deployment of cloud applications, portable to any Cloud. The company's pre-built Elements integrate common services to reduce the time and cost to build highly functional cloud applications.
Cloud Elements chose Cloud Foundry Core as its foundational platform specifically because of the immense productivity and portability gains provided to clients and development teams. Blending reusable components and open source Cloud technology with proven consulting services, the combination of Cloud Elements' solutions and Cloud Foundry's open PaaS reduces application development time and cost 50 percent or more over traditional approaches.(1) Leading cloud services, such as payments, messaging and document management can be integrated into cloud applications with drag-and-drop simplicity with this unique combination of technology, product and consulting services.
"Cloud Elements is leading the way as a new breed of integrator -- building a business model on top of a platform-as-a-service framework. We are excited they chose Cloud Foundry Core to showcase their breakthrough approach," said James Watters, head of product cloud application platform, VMware. "Our shared customers will achieve optimal flexibility and portability in application development, with a clear commitment to enhancing application development productivity over time."
Cloud Elements' unique combination of services, technology and reusable software Elements directly address an organization's need for more rapid and cost effective application development productivity in building portable cloud applications. This relationship will combine those strengths with Cloud Foundry Core, the leading multi-cloud PaaS. Together, the companies will provide the best means to build applications that can be ported instantly to any Cloud Foundry Core compatible cloud including multiple public cloud providers and private instances that Cloud Elements installs and manages. Because the adoption of PaaS is growing rapidly with evolving requirements and rapid business change, value-added technology and services have been in high demand.
"Cloud Elements dramatically reduces our clients' time and cost of developing portable cloud applications. By combining our reusable Elements, our cloud-centric consulting team and the Cloud Foundry platform, we can reduce the cost to build, deploy and manage cloud applications by 50% or more," said Mark Geene, CEO, Cloud Elements. "We are proud to be a significant part of the VMware ecosystem and are eager to see the gains it will offer our clients as we help them develop cloud-optimized applications that are open and portable."
