MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/07/12 -- Appcelerator®, the leading mobile platform company, announced today that it has acquired Nodeable, the leader in real-time, big data processing for Hadoop. Nodeable's StreamReduce solution processes and analyzes raw data in real-time to find trends, summaries, and anomalies that increase efficiency in data-driven businesses.
The acquisition will accelerate and round out Appcelerator's Enterprise Mobile Cloud offerings, inluding real time data processing, analytics, and enterprise data integration. Remaining consistent with Appcelerator's core values, Nodeable's StreamReduce will be made open source and available on GitHub, under the Apache License, version 2.0.
"Mobile is driving massive amounts of data, which is creating demand for real-time insights. The combination of Nodeable's real-time streaming technology with Appcelerator's mobile platform will enable enterprises to turn their mobile data into actionable information," said Mike Olson, CEO of Cloudera and investor/director of Nodeable.
"To accelerate building our next generation mobile platform, we wanted a better way for our customers to quickly analyze the huge volume of data coming in from their apps, in a way that's intelligent and real-time," explained Jeff Haynie, CEO of Appcelerator. "Nodeable's StreamReduce technology will be a foundational component of our Enterprise Mobile Cloud offering."
"We are honored and excited to join the Appcelerator team," shared Dave Rosenberg, CEO and Co-Founder of Nodeable. "Through Nodeable's StreamReduce technology, Appcelerator will now be able to tackle the enormous amount of data moving from mobile applications to the cloud, providing real-time analytics that enterprises can efficiently translate into actionable and relevant business decisions."
The Nodeable acquisition is the fourth in the past two years for Appcelerator, having added a robust set of cloud-based mobile features through its acquisition of Cocoafish in January 2012, enterprise-grade IDE capabilities through its acquisition of Aptana last January 2011, and HTML5 expertise through its Particle Code acquisition in October 2011. Based in San Francisco, Nodeable was founded in 2011 by Dave Rosenberg and Mark Griffin.
