STUTTGART, GERMANY -- (Marketwire) -- 11/07/12 -- Icron Technologies Corporation, a leader in USB and KVM extension technology, today announced at the VISION 2012 International Trade Fair in Stuttgart, Germany the commercial launch of two USB 3.0 100 meter fiber extenders: the Icron branded USB 3.0 Spectra(TM) 3022 and its OEM equivalent, the USB 3.0 SP3022.
These new extender systems support USB throughput up to 5Gbps, extending USB 3.0 up to 100 meters and beyond over multimode fiber optics. Both models are two port USB extenders that incorporate the ExtremeUSB® suite of features such as plug and play capability (no software drivers required) and compatibility with Windows (including Windows 8), Linux and Mac operating systems. Additionally, both models come with 2-year warranties and will be AIA USB3 Vision compliant upon the standard's release.
These USB 3.0 extenders are ideal for Machine Vision and security camera applications, and have been successfully tested with USB 3.0 cameras from the leading industrial camera manufacturers including IDS Image Development Systems, Point Grey Research, NET New Electronic Equipment, and Ximea.
"While Icron's new USB 3.0 Spectra products support any application requiring USB 3.0 extension, these models were designed with USB3 Vision in mind," said Robert Haefling, Icron Technologies President & CEO. "The performance and industrial design of these new products, including metal housing, locking USB and power connectors, and optional mounting rack are all features required by today's Machine Vision industry."
Both the USB 3.0 Spectra 3022 and the USB 3.0 SP3022 are available immediately from Icron Technologies and will be on demonstration at VISION 2012, Booth E143, including a live press event on November 7th at 3:00pm.
