ISC and NaMeX Offer DNS Training in Europe

REDWOOD CITY, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/23/09 -- Internet Systems Consortium (ISC) and NaMeX today announced a partnership establishing NaMeX's Rome location as the primary European site for ISC's BIND and DHCP training courses. The first series of classes begins October 12th.

In 2004, ISC began offering customer support for the ubiquitous open source software BIND, and shortly thereafter added support for ISC DHCP. Customers were quick to let ISC know that training classes designed to assist with set-up and ongoing operation of the nameservers and DHCP servers would complement software support. In response to demand, in September of 2006, we offered our first training, Introduction to BIND and Advanced BIND. These classes were created with a combination of lecture, labs and hands-on instruction to allow students to learn and practice BIND administration in a realistic setting.

"We are pleased to be partnering with ISC to bring their courses to Europe on a regular basis," stated Maurizio Goretti, CEO of NaMeX. "NaMeX is a neutral, non-profit, member based Internet Exchange point located in Rome, and is a crucial node in the overall Internet infrastructure of Italy. It's our pleasure to be able to offer our members the opportunity to attend these courses and to welcome people from across Europe into our training facilities, set in the heart of our enchanting city."

Class sizes are kept small to ensure adequate time can be spent on each student's questions regarding their unique situations. ISC's training offerings will continue to increase in the range of topics and frequency. Classes on specialized concerns such as DNSSEC Implementation and Deployment have been added to ISC's offerings to address Internet trends and customer requests. Onsite training courses are also available with either standard topics or custom ones. For a complete listing of our training offerings visit URL https://www.isc.org/services/training.

"ISC's goal is to offer our classes where customers need them. As the developers and maintainers of BIND and ISC DHCP, ISC is in a unique position to be responsive to the changing needs and uses of the software by our customers. Securing this partnership is another measure of our responsiveness and a step towards offering our trainings across the globe," stated Sue Graves, Professional Services Manager at ISC.

About ISC

Internet Systems Consortium (ISC) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) public benefit corporation widely known for world-class Internet software engineering and network operations. ISC produces only open-source software, of which BIND and ISC DHCP are the two best-known examples. Our emphasis is on Internet core technology. Our widely-imitated Managed Open Source process ensures the quality of this software while keeping it completely open and available. ISC operates high-reliability global networks of DNS root servers (F-root) and authoritative DNS servers ([email protected]) both for non-profit and for commercial enterprises. ISC is also very involved in ongoing Internet protocol and standards development, particularly in the areas of DNSSEC and IPv6. ISC is supported by donations from generous sponsors, by program membership fees, and by specific fees for services. IoT & Smart Cities Stories
IoT is rapidly becoming mainstream as more and more investments are made into the platforms and technology. As this movement continues to expand and gain momentum it creates a massive wall of noise that can be difficult to sift through. Unfortunately, this inevitably makes IoT less approachable for people to get started with and can hamper efforts to integrate this key technology into your own portfolio. There are so many connected products already in place today with many hundreds more on the h...
Digital Transformation is much more than a buzzword. The radical shift to digital mechanisms for almost every process is evident across all industries and verticals. Machine learning has taken residence at our cities' cores and now we can finally have "smart cities." Cities are a collection of buildings made to provide the structure and safety necessary for people to function, create and survive. Buildings are a pool of ever-changing performance data from large automated systems such as heating and cooling to the people that live and work within them. Through machine learning, buildings can optimize performance, reduce costs, and improve occupant comfort by ...
